030612 Recognizing family

Slowly but surely I continue to grow in my computer knowledge. Today I discovered that I am still allowed on Anne Gaal's site from a class I took last summer. I have been thinking about growing my crafts by creating a better blog and displaying some of my crafts online. This would allow some of my friends and family access to my finished items and if I get real ambisious, maybe even the directions. It is so hard for me to add anymore to my schedule because I have to remember what too much does to me at the end of the day. Watching Avery alone can be too much sometimes and now it is spring with all of the outside chores to do. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being able to work outside again and it really does help in the big picture. I have a helper again FINALLY but so far he hasn't been much of a helper. Some people talk about how they work and others just work, I am afraid he is more of a talker and not a doer. I didn't get to talk to my son Peter this week and I just relized how much of a hole it leaves. NOT to complain, AT ALL! I am just relizing how much that connection with my son really means to me. I know how very busy he is in his life but years ago I got on him for not communicating more, especially since I was permanently disabled and umable to reach out more. He was always the best one about calling home and touching base, but when I thought I needed them the most, he had backed off a little. Now I feel even closer to his children because I at least hear their voice and what they are up to once a week. Sometimes the calls are short but that is okay. Being so far away from my kids is something I still have a really hard time living with. I LOVE Joe being 10 minutes away, I try hard to respect his privacy and not intrude too much, but he is really good about dropping by when he has a few minutes, sometimes it is just a quick hug and other times he has a beer and just chats for awhile. Enough for today, gotta get my day started :)

End of Week 1 - Check-in Day

First of all, I am sorry I am late with this, it has been a very hectic week and for the next month It is not going to get any better. This class was a last minute decision but I am so glad that I have squeezed it in.

I have not received my book yet, even though I paid extra for quick shipping, hopefully on Monday. I have read all of the entries this week, have written 6/7 morning papers (not my favorite either), have done 2 hours (dates) on inventory book, have been creating a special sympathy card, have watched tutorials on my computer every night this week and have been outside as much as possible (winters are hard).

I challenged myself this year for the first time in 10 years I actually was able to do the canning. Normally my dear husband does the actuall canning because it is a hardship on my body. I was really sore and tired afterwards but it felt good to be outside all day in beautiful God's country, the hot day indoors by the stove could have been shorter but I will really enjoy the 11 batches that were made. Blackberry syrup and applesauce this time, tomorrow will be carrots, nothing quite like homegrown and homemade;)

I did have some discoveries from the past, wrote them down in my morning papers and plan to explore more on those subjects. I didn't respond all week as well as most of you but I did reach inside on each subject and relized I needed more time this week, however; I learned much from all of you and from the questions posed. I know that I am going to do this again.... at least once more! Just by the comments I know that the book goes deep enough (if you let it) that the first time through just scratches the surface.

Hope you all have a great week and I will try hard to participate more next week!
